HOW CAN I HELP?

How can I help?: Welcome

WHAT IS TALKING THERAPY?

Therapists listen to your story, helping you to understand yourself better and make positive changes in your life.  By providing a safe and supportive space, therapy can help you to express your feelings, issues and concerns to a trained professional.

MY APPROACH

My practice is integrative which means I have been trained in a number of different evidence-based therapeutic theories and methods that I can draw from in our work together. My aim is to provide clients with an unencumbered space in which to focus on their problems and then work collaboratively with them towards their own solutions. This may include emotion-focused work, understanding how past events may be impacting current behaviour, experiences and relationships, elements of cognitive behavioural therapy’s and psycho-education.

WHAT WILL OUR THERAPY SESSION BE LIKE?

What we cover in our therapy sessions will vary. We might talk about:

  • your current and past relationships

  • your childhood and past experiences

  • situations or events you find difficult

  • how you feel

  • how you behave

  • what you think about things

  • issues that have come up in previous sessions

But it's important to remember that you don't have to talk about anything you're not ready to talk about, or do anything you don't want to do.

ONE-TO-ONE SESSIONS

Individual sessions are 50 minutes in duration. The overall number of sessions will depend on what you wish to explore and the pace at which you feel comfortable to work. Sometimes clients find that a few sessions of short term therapy is sufficient to explore a specific issue; others choose to work for a longer period. We can talk about what feels right for you and review arrangements made at any time.

I am happy to talk through your needs informally, so please feel free to contact me
